Amazon Air Launches Daily Cargo Service at Pittsburgh International Airport

AFCO is proud to have worked closely with the Allegheny County Airport Authority and our tenant Trego-Dugan Aviation to help bring Amazon’s Prime Air operations to Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT). Serving as one of Amazon’s select gateway facilities around the country—and as a logistics hub and warehouse distribution center for the e-commerce giant—solidifies PIT as a competitive and growing air cargo hub as well as an economic engine in the region.

“Cargo is a really important economic generator,” says Christina Cassotis of the Allegheny County Airport Authority. “That package arriving on your doorstep the day after you’ve ordered the product … it’s because it’s coming through an airport. Pittsburgh being part of that network nationwide is really important, and Prime Air choosing Pittsburgh as an expansion city is really important.”

Check out this video from Blue Sky News, which highlights the first Prime Air flight out of PIT and, per AFCO’s President + CEO Charles (Chuck) Stipancic, Jr., “a great example of partners working together to make good things happen.”
