Washington Dulles International Airport, VA (IAD)

AFCO is an owner of Cargo Building 5 at the World Cargo Center, Washington Dulles International Airport, VA. The Dulles World Cargo Center, which commenced operations in 1993, is a 287,000 square-foot building with 635,000 square feet of aircraft apron, and associated parking lots, roads and utilities. The project was valued at approximately $42,000,000. The financing of the building, aircraft apron, ancillary facilities and $1,900,000 worth of infrastructure for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority was furnished by equity and three separate issues of special transportation facility revenue bonds. In all three phases, construction was started with internally-arranged funding prior to the closing of permanent financing. The project continues to grow in size.

The Airport is located in the Northern Virginia within 30 minutes of downtown Washington, DC, via the Washington Dulles Access Highway (267), from Interstate Highway 495 (the Capital Beltway) and from Interstate 66 (I-66). Route 28, outside the airport entrance, connects south to Route 50 and I-66 or north to Route 7. Routes 7, 50 and I-66 connect west to Interstate 81 (I-81).
