AFCO has operated cargo buildings at the BWI airport since 1999. Currently, we operate five cargo buildings, three on Air Cargo Drive in the North Cargo Complex, and two on Mathison Way at the Midfield Cargo complex, Baltimore-Washington International Airport, MD.
Most recently, we delivered a 200,000 square foot building with 450,000 square feet of apron at a cost of $38 million in 2018, and renovated a 60,000 square foot building with 115,000 square feet of apron in 2020.
AFCO is committed to sustainability and environmental stewardship, and we have upgraded LED lighting in our facilities at BWI.
Access to the North Cargo Complex is excellent via Interstate 95 (I-95) to I-195 east to Aviation Boulevard North then east on Air Cargo Drive. BWI is served by several scheduled cargo airlines: ABX Air, Air Transport, Atlas Air, DHL, FedEx, FedEx/Mountain Air, International, and UPS.
BWI ranks 30th for busiest airport in the country for cargo.
