|AFCO is an owner of the Joint Air Cargo Facility at 700 Mexico City Avenue, Kansas City International Airport, MO. This cargo facility is enhanced by 350,000 square feet of apron, taxilane and taxiway connector developed by AFCO. AFCO plans a potential 36,000 to 40,000 square feet of additional cargo building at this Kansas City site when market conditions permit. The $4,300,000 acquisition of the facility and the development of the apron by an AFCO investor partnership in 1995 was financed with special transportation facility revenue bonds and equity. Apron construction was started with internal funds prior to issuance of the bonds.
The Airport is located adjacent to three major interstate highway systems, Interstates 29 (I-29), 35 (I-35) and 70 (I-70). MCI’s location and access link the Joint Air Cargo Facility at MCI to a vast region extending from Denver to Cincinnati, Minneapolis to Dallas.
